Made near Morpeth, Northumberland, we make hand made stone ground raw cacao bars made from organic, unrefined and nutritious ingredients. A healthier alternative to mass produced chocolate, our cacao bars are free from dairy, gluten, refined sugar, soya and palm oil. They are stone ground for at least 24hours to give a lovely smooth texture and a better taste experience.

We choose to use cacao for the its health benefits. Cacao is thought to be the highest source of antioxidants and the highest source of magnesium of all foods. Cacao contains more fibre and calories than cocoa since more of the nutrients from the whole bean are still intact.

Each bar is about 60% cacao and they all contain ground cashew nuts, lucuma, hemp powder and Palmyra Blossom nectar (www.sugavida.com). Palmyra blossom nectar is the most nutritious sweetener available, it is full of vitamins and minerals such as B vitamins and magnesium. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 2000 years. Some bars also contain homemade almond or hazelnut butter which gives them a lovely richness as well as boosting the nutritional profile of the bars. Every ingredient counts - no empty calories.

The flavours are inspired by travel we have done or would like to do so they all have a little story attached to them! Our aim is to provide you with a healthy treat and to invoke happy memories of your own travel experiences. They are all flavoured with natural flavourings such as organic fruit powders, coffee or essential oils. More information on the ingredients and flavours can be found on our website. We have twice reached the finals of the Nourish Awards (www.nourishawards.org) and last year I was delighted that my Coast flavour got a bronze award in the Chocolate, Confectionary and Desserts category (https://nourishawards.org/2021-winners/). This year I have entered Ole into the Nourish awards (results announced 22nd Sept 2022) and Aztec into The Academy of Chocolate Awards. We were delighted that Aztec won a Silver Award.

Being sustainable and eco friendly is very important to us. All the packaging is recyclable and the labels are printed on recycled paper using vegetable based inks. Recently we subscribed to Ecologi which helps us to offset our carbon footprint. Our subscription helps pay for reforestation or carbon offsetting projects world wide.
