Skye McAlpine Message maker
Skye McAlpine is a cookery writer who believes that food tastes best when shared with others. Born in London, she moved to Venice with her parents when she was six years old. The plan was to stay for a year, but Venice has a way of capturing people’s hearts - and some thirty years on, she has never really left, now dividing her time between London and Venice where she writes, photographs and teaches cookery workshops.

Skye is the author of two cookbooks: A Table in Venice, which celebrates the Venetian home-cooking of her childhood, and A Table for Friends, which is all about how to cook for friends and really enjoy it (whether you’re cooking for two or twenty). She writes a regular recipe column for The Sunday Times and contributes to a number of publications around the world, including Vogue, the Daily Telegraph and Vanity Fair. In 2020 She was named one of the 50 most influential women in food by the respected Italian daily newspaper, Corriere della Sera. A love of entertaining, and sharing her home and food, are at the heart of everything she does.
