Hello, I'm Dan.
What I say: If ‘Tea Makes Everything Better’ shouldn’t we be drinking better tea?
What Others Say: “Dan created our first ever Tea Academy. His depth of knowledge, and obvious love of the subject, mean that his tea is consistently of the highest quality” ~ The National Gallery
In 2008 I was working in national press, wondering why nobody would pay for a newspaper, but everybody would visit a café to pay handsomely for a coffee. I then wondered why was tea – our national drink – not part of this change in consumer spending.
So I became committed to bring you only fine tea. I personally travelled to source the very best (If you have your doubts, try the rest!).
Tea comes from one bush (an evergreen, known as Camellia Sinensis). For hundreds of years it was a luxury product that only very few could afford. Quality was high and consumers were revered as connoisseurs.
Cultivation of fine tea, like fine wine, requires unique characters of location, climate, soil, topography and elevation – the terroir. Combine this with the careful skill of the tea master and you have a cup to truly savour. To suit all consumer tastes, our day is dedicated to the provision of both traditional teas and rare teas not otherwise found in the UK.
I also create tea blends. Our signature CHASH English Breakfast Gold; Sherlock Holmes Tea and Shakespeare Tea (exclusive to CHASH); Bespoke Blends for clients, including the British Library.
