To be legally classified as ‘Scotch Whisky’, whisky must sit in a cask for at least three years. Of course, whiskies tend to bear their age statements on the bottle but this is by no means a guarantee of quality. Non-age statement whiskies are released when they are ready, rather than when they reach a certain age, giving us access to some great, often youthful drams.
Distilleries providing ‘Non-Age Statement’ whiskies like these allow us to judge the liquid purely on smell and taste. Our three years and a day tasting aims to show the quality that exists within non age-statement whisky and shows that age, in whisky, is just a number!
