Urban Cordial <\/u><\/h3>\n

Natasha Steele left a career in the City to start producing cordials full-time after her friends and family loved the drinks she was making from the fruit in her allotment. Right from the start she used very little sugar, allowing the taste\u00a0of the fruit itself to shine through.<\/p>\n

What we love about Urban Cordial is that Natasha\u2019s focus on local produce and taste was carried through from allotment to farm as business kept growing \u2013 as well as\u00a0the same insistence on minimising food surplus as much as possible, as\u00a0over a third of global food never reaches our plates simply because\u00a0it\u2019s thought odd-looking. As a result, Natasha got in touch with local farms for their excess produce and to date, Urban Cordial has helped save over 100 tonnes of produce from landfill. Just one bottle of\u00a0Raspberry and Rosemary<\/a>\u00a0saves around 60 raspberries from going to waste, and\u00a0Pear and Ginger<\/a>\u00a0uses every ounce of five pears. The fruit is of the highest quality, even if it is slightly bumpy or lumpy! Plus, all pulp from the production process is used as animal feed so waste is truly minimised as much as possible.<\/p>\n

We stock every\u00a0flavour and they\u2019re all a delight! From a carefully considered choice of eight, there\u2019s a cordial for each\u00a0moment of the year so you can make the most of the best seasonal produce which goes into each drink.<\/p>\n

They can be enjoyed with sparkling water, vodka, or gin; alternately, why not try them as the star of your favourite cocktail, alcoholic or not? Take pleasure in the soothing properties of\u00a0Apple, Cinnamon & Clove<\/a>\u00a0in a hot toddy when in need of comfort on dark winter nights. Come out of hibernation in spring with\u00a0Elderflower<\/a>, an elegant mix with fizzy water; or enjoy the taste of summer all year round with the fragrant\u00a0Raspberry and Rosemary<\/a>, which\u00a0is especially invigorating with lime juice \u2013 check out the recipe below.<\/p>\n

As well as offering each flavour of cordial separately, we also have a bundle of six bottles:\u00a0The Ultimate Cocktail Makers<\/a>, which includes Strawberry & Sage, Blackberry & Lavender, and\u00a0four other flavours. One 500ml bottle can give you around 10-15 glasses, so there\u2019s plenty if you\u2019re having friends over and want to show off your cocktail-making skills.<\/p>\n

2. Mandy’s Sour Face<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you need:<\/strong>
\n30ml\u00a0Raspberry & Rosemary cordial<\/a>
\n15ml lime juice
\nFizzy water<\/p>\n

Mixing it up:<\/strong>
\nAdd cordial and lime juice to the glass and top up with fizzy water.<\/p>\n

Serves 1<\/p>\n

Great with fajitas!<\/p>\n

3. Alf\u2019s Marteenee<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you need:<\/strong>
\n30ml\u00a0Apple, Lemon & Fennel cordial<\/a>
\n30ml non-alcoholic gin (optional)
\n25ml apple juice
\n7ml lemon juice<\/p>\n

Mixing it up:<\/strong>
\nAdd ice to a shaker along with all the other ingredients and shake shake shake. Strain into your glass, sip and dance.<\/p>\n

Serves 1<\/p>\n

Great served alongside a quinoa and bean salad with an orange-coriander dressing!<\/p>\n

4. Wilma\u2019s Punchy Pear<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you need:<\/strong>
\n160ml\u00a0Pear & Ginger cordial<\/a>
\n1 vanilla pod
\n1tbsp golden caster sugar
\n3 cardamom pods
\n25ml raw apple cider vinegar
\n1\/2 tsp rosewater
\nsparkling water<\/p>\n

Mixing it up:<\/strong>
\nAdd the cordial, vanilla, sugar and cardamom to a pan and bring to a simmer. Leave to cool completely and strain into a jug (or punch bowl if you are feeling retro)! Add the vinegar, rosewater and sparkling water.<\/p>\n

Serves 6<\/p>\n

Great with a retro prawn cocktail or alternatively lots of snacks!<\/p>\n

5. Bobby’s Mule<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you need:<\/strong>
\n30ml\u00a0Apple, Cinnamon & Clove cordial<\/a>
\n20ml Apple juice
\n5ml Apple cider vinegar
\nGinger beer<\/p>\n

Mixing it up:<\/strong>
\nAdd cordial, juice and vinegar to glass and top up with ginger beer. If you\u2019re feeling fancy coat the rim of the glass in cinnamon sugar.<\/p>\n

Serves 1<\/p>\n

Great with a roast!<\/p>\n

6. Patricia’s Lemonade<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you need:<\/strong>
\n35ml\u00a0Blackberry & Lavender cordial<\/a>
\nLemonade<\/p>\n

Mixing it up:<\/strong>
\nAdd cordial to a glass and top up with lemonade.<\/p>\n

Serves 1<\/p>\n
